Welcome to Westport's Community House

Potikohua House promotes strengths and skills for women.
 
Our vision is to strengthen personal, family and community well-being by providing integrated health, education and social services. 
 
Potikohua is a new Adult Community Education (ACE) provider.  Courses are FREE.
 
 
Some of what we do is listed below:-
  • Reception is staffed Monday to Friday in school terms
  • Community lunch on Tuesday - a gold coin donation would be appreciated.
  • Drop in for some peace and quiet, or to make a cuppa.
  • Art and Craft for self esteem on Wednesdays.
  • Computer skills for individual women. 
  • Working towards Work for women, ( 1 hr. p.w.)
  • Youth Worker support for young women and young mothers.
  • Support Worker for house users
  • Individual and group support or advocacy for women ACC claimaints
  • Massage therapists by appointment.
  • Counsellors, by apppointment.
  • Group workshops to enhance strengths and skills for women:  Term 4 2006 includes - painting; pilates; creative writing; child development and providing for play; buying a house; the creative journal for women; talking with your children about sexual abuse.
Come and join in, it will be good for all of us.

Potikohua House is a lovely old villa set in peaceful gardens in Westport.  The trust offers a supportive and welcoming environment for women of all ages and their families.

Drop in for a light lunch at the community house on Tuesdays, and see what courses or programmes are coming up.
